My name is Kayla Ortega and I am currently looking for a communications or marketing role. 

 

I am a graduate student at Rutgers University where I am expected to graduate in 2024 with a Master’s degree in Communications and Media. Prior to this I graduated from Montclair State University with a B.A in Communications and Media Arts. At MSU I was a member of two honors organizations and studied media writing, public relations, social media marketing, and promotional strategy development. 

 

Professionally, I am an administrative coordinator at Stellar Role Models Inc., a local 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. In this role I have been able to sharpen my administrative and organizational skills. I previously served as the organization's social media coordinator, this role helped me get a thorough understanding of social media management. 

 

I love the arts, in my free time I enjoy live music events or visiting art museums. My long term goal is to have a communications career in the music industry as a manifestation of my love for music.
